One of the StuRa’s responsibilities is to use the fees paid by students to fund projects that benefit the student body. If you still need funding for a project that will enrich the lives of multiple students, we’d be happy to support you.
What do we support?
In principle, all student projects that clearly benefit the student body. These include cultural events, lectures, trips to trade shows, sporting events, …
- The projects receiving funding should comply with the principles of cost-effectiveness and frugality.
- We do NOT fund commercial projects (e.g., sales) or the serving of alcoholic beverages.
How do we provide support?
The most common model is risk financing. This means that a guarantee is provided for an agreed-upon amount, and after the event has taken place, we review the settlement to determine how much we will pay out, up to a maximum of the predetermined amount.
In justified individual cases, an advance payment or a loan is also possible. We also provide in-kind support.
- Your first point of contact is the Finance Department. There, we will discuss whether funding is available and what options exist.
- The next step is to draft a written application. This is submitted to the Student Council (StuRa) for a vote. You can find further information here.
- Important for new projects:
To ensure a successful funding application, you should contact the Finance Department at least six weeks before the event. - Important for recurring projects:
To ensure a successful funding application, you should contact the Finance Department at least three weeks before the event.
Part of the sponsorship agreement is that the StuRa logo must appear on all promotional materials as well as in event- and/or project-related communications on the Internet.
What needs to be done after the event?
In order for the grant to be disbursed, we need proof that it was used appropriately. For this reason, a financial statement should be prepared after the event. The deadline for this is 6 months; after that, the grant approval expires. In justified cases, an extension may be granted; this must be requested in writing with a justification and will then be voted on by the StuRa.
